This is guest blog post no. 4 by James Boulding, who stays with his girlfriend Manuela Jungo in KiteWorldWide Mansion Cape Town, kitesurfing, enjoying his time and working on a video on life here.
With a solid couple days of midweek wind we headed out on 2 long down winders from the mansion in Sunset Beach and finished up down at Doodles sunset bar, the perfect way to enjoy a smallish wave swell and practice our strapless riding in the tamer conditions.
We scored one last pre xmas session in Langebaan a few days after and with a building forecast we are insured one last pre-xmas kite which I will cap with a big freestyle session at Big Bay. It appears santa has delivered us wind this year for xmas a few days early so it’s time to get riding now and enjoy things on the water before letting the xmas mansion festivities commence!
The last few days we’ve enjoyed a couple of days no wind to let our bodies heal up from the unrelenting winds we’ve been enjoying so far. As per usual we hit up our saturday morning biscuit mill visit followed by a trip to Constantia to sample some of the famous wines coming out of the cape region.
It is the season to be jolly and although xmas has a different feel out here we are doing our thing with copious amounts of good food and drink.
Last night we were treated to a sunset rooftop brai (BBQ) on the roof of the mansion and enjoyed a stunning sunset over the sea with what I can only say is the tastiest tuna steaks I have ever eaten!
We both wish everyone out there a merry xmas and hopefully a windy one too if you’re hitting the water, and keep an eye out for our next blog post just after Xmas!
