Kos is one of the only Greek island where the conditions are great for beginners as well as more advanced kiters.
Our colleague and team rider Anne discovered Mastichari on the island Kos a few years ago when she spent a couple of seasons on the island. She therefore has the insiders knowledge on all of the kite spots and has kited everywhere possible on the island!
The kiteschool is located on the wide sandy beach of Mastichari. The school is VDWS licensed and operates under German management and ownership. Stefan and his team have been athletes on the water for almost all theirs lives and they live the Greek hospitality to the fullest.
They developed a special and exceptionally secure schooling system, which combines professional training via boat with semi-private classes (a maximum of two students per instructor). This enables fast progression on the water as well as a high level of safety and of course a lot of fun.
The little fishing village of Mastichari, has a real local feel and is away from the mass tourism which is prevalent in other parts of the island. There are lots of taverna’s offering delicious food and the unique Greek hospitality.
Our Kite House is conveniently located a few minutes walk from the kite spot and the town so you can walk everywhere. The house has 8 separate studios each with their own little balcony so you can have your own space, as well as join the group. We all come together for breakfast before we head to the beach for a day of kiting, the end of the day normally ends with a drink or two at the beach bar or by the shared pool to celebrate another good day. We have our own KiteWorldWide guide on site, like in all our other destinations to show you the best restaurants, kite spots and other sights in Mastichari.
For families this is also a great location, you have a big sandy beach right in front of the kite spots which is perfect for children to play, they could even learn how to windsurf or stand up paddle from our centre
The windy season runs from April until the end of October and therefore longer than you might think, even at the beginning or the end of the season the weather is warm and sunny.
On top of all the good news, you will find cheap flights to Kos departing several days per week with Ryan Air or Easyjet as well as many of the bigger tour operators. The transfer from the airport is only a short 20-minute drive away from the Kite House.
