Roadbook Entry #10 – On the way to Marrakech

The time at Aglou Plage has come to an end. It was good there, but the way to the beach is a bit to long. Marco and Josi continue their adventure. The next destination is Tafraoute, one of the most beautiful cities of Morocco, and especially known for the blue rocks.

The way to Tafraoute goes through mountainous terrain, but fortunately the road is in a good shape.

For the last few meters they need to leave the road, but the stunning view of the landscape, compensates for everything.

They decide to spend the night direct at the blue stones. At the evening Marco and Josi got surprised by an Czech couple, who is also traveling through Morocco. They camp side by side for the night and having a lot of fun to round off the day together.

Well rested they continue their journey. The next stop is Taroudannt.

As they arrive in there, they are overwhelmed by the beautiful landscape. The two adventuerers spend the night at a orange plantation.

The third stage leads them over the Tizi-n-Test mountain pass. It is quit different for big cars to go there, but they still want to go, because the landscape is just breathtaking. Unfortunately the weather was not that good.

But as they passed the mountain pass, the weather turns almost immediately.

Just a few minutes later, they arrive at the camping place Ourika Camp, directly at the gates of Marrakech.

Early the next morning they go to Marrakech by bus. At first they get lost a bit, but in the end they found the Djemaa el-Fna Place, direct in the heart of Marrakech. Instantly they have the feeling to be part of the movie “One Thousand and One Nights”. The place is crowded with artists, gleemans and watch makers. After the Djemaa el Fna Place they explore the souks. The souks are small, tiny alleys with roofs. Again they have the feeling to be part of a long forgotten time.

Tired from the long day and all the new impressions, they search a restaurant for dinner to round of the day.

As usual, you can check their current location on our map. Further, have a look into their Road Book and get to know how they have been doing so far.
