From Hamburg you just take the A7 and get off the highway Hamburg northwest onto the A 23 direction Heide, Büsum, Wesselburen. After about 52km take the exit Heide-West direction Büsum, Würhrden and Wesselburen. From there, you will see signs for St. Peter-Ording. Follow these signs.

It is also possible to go with the Nord-Ostee Bahn which will take approximately 3 hours from Hamburg to St. Peter-Ording.

Is there overnight parking at the beach in St. Peter Ording during the World Cup?

For those of you who prefer to be close to the action, there is the-not officially allowed-the option to stay on the beach alternative. For years, the entire beach has been full of cars during the event. Throughout the day and into the night many visitors are not able to leave because of this.

Until 2009 the night was “tolerated” at the beach parking lot; however, since 2010, the city of St. Peter Ording has cracked down. In order to get to the beach a tax must be paid and all of those who wish to stay overnight will face a fine. In recent years there also been the threat of being towed, but we do know anyone who this actually happened to. There were, though, tickets given out and some of them were fines up to €30.[singlepic id=856w=300 h=200 float=left] .

At public car parking lot you can sleep. Of course this is not allowed, but if you wake up early in the morning there should not be any problems.
