Hello and welcome to the KiteWorldWide.TV blog.
This is the first entry in what is to become a series of travel logs, kite material tests, kiting techniques, tips for beginners, and just new stuff about kiting around the world.
Different people from all over the globe will be writing here, and I, Jürgen, am going to be the first. If you want to learn more about me, just click here.
I am currently in Kenya again, in the KiteWorldWide Lodge with the VDWS Kite Center that Philipp and I are in charge of.
We have all the materials you need and are excited to introduce you to these – tested in the Kenyan sun. We have the newest stuff: from Slingshot 2011 Rallys and Fuels as well as 2010 RPMs (we’ll the 2011s in March), to GIN Kites Zulus from 5 to 13 sm to the Brunotti Boards in all designs. The Youri Zoon Pro Model from 2010 and 2011 (we’ll be doing a comparison test of these soon) among others and the more advanced model Onyx with great quality for your money.
One of the “gimmicks” that we’re excited about is the “Noise kite” by Ben Wilson – wave rider par excellence – who just produced his first kite and board range after designing with Slingshot for 10 years. There’ll be at test of that soon, too. Just one thing: We’ve never seen such a robust kite with such a stably fashioned bar.
Over time, other authors will make contributions to the blog.
They’ll give you kiting tips about everything from kite steering, water types, the first steps, to handle passes!
You’ll get pictures of our trips and articles directly from different destinations.
You can get exact sporting information from the KiteWorldWide Facebook app from which we’ll keep you up-to-date with the newest spots. We’d love for you to make your own contributions, post your spots, or, if you want, send us an e-mail with a short spot report or other interesting mini-story.
As you can see, this is going to be an “interactive” blog. Just send us an e-mail with your topic, the text, and a few cool pictures including a picture of you and a short description of who you are to firstname.lastname@example.org . We’d love to hear from you!
Here are a few pics as a teaser for the next entries.
We’re excited about your comments and suggestions of what we can feature here!
