The beautiful island Zanzibar is located in the Indian Ocean. It is famous for its beautiful beaches with crystal-clear, turquoise water. Our spot has shallow water and is therefore also perfect for beginners.

We found the perfect Kitespot and accommodation for your kite holiday at Zanzibars east coast in Jambiani. The hotel is directly in front of our Kitespot and exclusive for KiteWorldWide. It is on a beautiful private beach with a close-by mangrove wood.

Our small hotel is completely renovated and contains of nine rooms which are in small bungalows with palm roofs.

The kitespot is directly in front of the hotel. Because of a 2km long sandbank we have a huge lagoon with shallow water for instructions and trainings but also for freestyler and advanced rider.

Our partner, Kitecenter Zanzibar, has new North equipment from 2011. Their instructors speak English and German and are your local contact persons.

The kiteseasons are from June till September and from December till March. The wind direction is always sideshore.

This small, amazing island in front of the east coast of Tanzania does not only have beautiful beaches and coasts but also beautiful dive sites and lots of alternatives to do.

On the island there is the Jozani national park which you will cross on your way from the airport to the hotel.

Zanzibar is also famous for its huge variety of spices which gave Zanzibar the nickname: “Spice - island”.

The beautiful historic centre of Zanzibars capital, Stone Town is also worth a visit. Freddy Mercurys home town is affected by small alleys and coral-stone made colonial houses. You will also find some small bars and shops.

The Kitespot is located at the east cost of Zanzibar in Jambiani. It has perfect conditions for beginners, advanced riders and freestyler.

Right in front of the beach is a lagoon, built by a 2 km sandbank. Therefore we have shallow water for our instructions and trainings. Our local Kiteschool is equipped with new North material from 2011. They also use extra wide  Crazyfly boards which are good for fast progess.

The winter kiteseason is from December till March. During the summer you can kite from June till September. The wind is always sideshore and during the kiteseasons really steady.

This spot is strongly regulated by tides but it is also possible to kite under low tide conditions after a short walk on the beach.

Because of small solitary corals you should wear neoprene shoes.

The Kiteschool

Our local partner in Jmabiani is Kitecentre Zanibar.

They have the newest North equipment from 2011 for rent and for courses.

For beginners they have Crazy Fly Board. They have a special design and size to afford fast progress.

You will meet your instructor in front of your hotel. He will give you a first instruction and then guide you to the spot which is in front of the hotel.

Our hotel “Red Monkey” opens completely renovated at the under German administration at the beginning of December 2010. It has nine rooms which are in small stone bungalows with palm roofs. Each room has an own bathroom and a small terrace. The beach and kitespot is really directly in front of the hotel.

The hotel also has a restaurant which offers fresh regional meals with fresh seafood, meat and salad. Breakfast is included. A great four course dinner is optionally available (12 € per day).

A slow internet connection is available so you can write and receive e-mails.

Downwindtour

If you are an advanced rider, this is something you don't want to miss.
Riding endless waves downwind for 20 km, strapless, or with straps. It is an amazing trip where you can't stop smiling, taking the waves, jumping, making big off the lips. If you are lucky you will see some turtles or dolfins on the way.
Depending on the wind we have a drop off and ride towards the hotel, or start from the hotel and have a pickup that brings us back.
Afterwards you will finish the day with an amply seafood Barbecue. An incredible amazing coast area with dreamlike beaches and cristal clear water and a lot of fun and action awaits you!

Safari Blue

On this “safari” you will sail with typical dhow boats from Fumba in the south to a sandbank where you can snorkel and explore the faszinating under water world of the Indian Ocean. Afterwards you sail further to a tiny solitary island where you finish the day with an amply seafood Barbeque and cool drinks. You might also see some dolphins!

Spicetour

Zanzibar is also called Spice-island because you can find almost every spice here. On this guided half-day expedition you will discover spices in various ways. This excursion is a successful and interesting diversification.

Stone Town

You will visit the beautiful historic centre of Zanzibars capital, Stone Town. A guide will explain and show you certain interesting details about the home town of Freddy Mercury. In addition to the national museum you will find lots of bars and small shops. This charming historic center belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage and is affected by small alleys and coral-stone made colonial houses.

Safari

The word “safari“ has its origin in the Swahili and means “travel“ or “drive“

You have the great opportunity to combine your kiteholiday with one of the most interesting and faszinating safari you can do in Africa. You will get the chance to see the incredible landscape of the Ngoro crater and  the famous Kilimanjaro. You can start or finish your holiday with a safari and decide the length and the direction. We would like to arrange you an individual offer. Just ask!

Country and People

Zanzibars inhabitants are Muslims but there are no restrictions for tourists. The climate is tropical throughout the whole year.

For travelers from Europe there are no special immigration rules and regulations.

Each person only needs a passport which has to be valid up to six months after the journey.

You also need a visa which you receive during your flight or at the airport. It costs 50$ or 50€ and has to be paid cash.

The islands currency is US- $. Zanzibar has only one cash machine in Stone Town at the other side of the island. Therefore we recommend you to change enough money before travelling to Zanzibar. Traveller´s cheques are also not recommendable because it is very difficult to change them.

If you decide to explore Zanzibar on your own, you should now that you have to go by taxi and that they are only available in Zanzibar Town. So you also have to pay the taxi on its way to the hotel (to pick you up) and afterwards (after dropping you off at your hotel) back to Zanzibars capital.

In the evening you should protect yourself from mosquitos with long clothes and insect repellent.
